last few weeks have been really crazy around here (well truth to be told, things are still pretty crazy at the moment and I don’t expect it to calm down so soon). One of the most exciting things of this year is most definitely my first (first as a Jewelry maker) TV appearance. When lovely Lorella (host and editor of the show) contacted me and asked me if I want to be on her show (Glitter), well you can imagine how thriller I was! I was beyond happy and honored to be part of something so beautiful.
I was a bit stressed out through the whole week (before shooting), but as soon as I start talking to the filming crew, I was perfectly calm. A reporter even asked me if I was nervous at all, since I looked so easygoing and not afraid of anything at all. The whole conversation was so pleasant and I really enjoyed it and was actually a bit surprised when they told me this is it, that they got all they need. It was all good!
You can check the whole interview here and I’m so sorry for all foreign readers, since we only talk in my native language and you won’t understand much, but you can watch and read the summarized version of the interview below the video. 😉
If I summarize it and translate a bit: reporter asked me about my statement “Dare to be different” (you can see it on the front page of this blog) and I said that either you are born different or you’re not. You can be a follower through your whole life or you choose your own path and “swim against the tide,” which is way harder but at the end you’ll be grateful for all the things you’ve done for yourself. When everyone goes left, I’ll go right, because I hate following the mass. That’s just how I live my life. We talked about how I started – with paper craft (you can also see few of my cards). I’m working on these Jewelry line for almost three years now and I like this particular technique, since it’s giving me so many options for creating and designing different things. I was never interested in a Jewelry that “screamed Handmade” from mille apart. I don’t like that and I never wore it, so it was obvious for me to choose something different. Something (almost) no one in my country work with before me, I only saw this kind of Jewelry outside our borders. I’m very proud that some of my best seller are handmade images, transferred into Jewelry and that makes it even more unique and special. You can make a huge statement with what you wear on a daily bases, that’s why I like to create soft and romantic items and also provocative and unusual pieces too (like my fu*k coco chanel earrings, which can also be seen in a video). Last part was about new Jewelry line that we’re working on at the moment. It’s going to be different, much more prestige and we really want to get it out there as soon as possible, since we’ve got few Slovenian jewelers very interested in carrying this line in their shops. I also talked about my future plans: get my Jewelry even more out there, be more present on Slovenian market, work on marketing here (which I haven’t done so far at all) and start a new company with prestige Jewelry pieces.
I would like to thank everyone that was included in this in any way possible – beautiful Anja for modeling with my Jewelry, amazing filming crew – they were a dream and so easy to work with, Lorella for inviting me to be part of her great show, my family and friends for wonderful support and all the messages yesterday when this interview was aired and of course all the sweet questions before that (they were all anxious to see it as soon as possible), and last but not least – my boyfriend for being my rock, believing in me unconditionally & knowing me so well that sometimes he even knows things about me, before even I figure it out.
Have a wonderful day,
