Hiking in your 3rd trimester can be a lot of things. Fun, risky, amazing, exhausting, great, s stressful
Let’s break down this last sentence:
– fun, amazing & great: it was all that. Because I love fresh air and it’s wonderful to do something good for your body (even if you’re pregnant).
– risky, exhausting & stressful: it was all that too. There had been moments when I wasn’t completely sure if this was such a good idea. I felt some strange pain and I had to take it easy. And the stressful part: during all my pregnancy I was dealing with the fact that I can not do all the things I used to. Or I can do it, but in a slow motion. My body just wasn’t able to take such an effort anymore.
But as you can see – I did. I came all the way up (and down). I was super proud of myself.
Few months back (before I was pregnant) this wouldn’t be anything special. I did it a hundred times. But when you carrying a little person inside of you … well that’s another story, let me tell you that.
There’s a lot of reasons why I love hiking. Fresh air, amazing nature, wonderful views and a time well spent. You’re body get’s strength, your mind finds peace. It’s also great time for long conversation. And that’s a lot of positive sides.
I still don’t know when will I make another 37 km long hike, but I’ll do it. I made a promise to myslef while I was pregnant and I intend to keep it.
Have a great day,
